Over the past year, many of us have watched in horror as we saw the devastation ensued by tornados in Alabama. Trees were mangled, houses were reduced to rubble, and many lives were lost. Inland Hills Church is joining the Christian community in springing into action. Next Step Outreach, formely known as Hope Crisis Reponse Network, has set up camp in Birmingham, AL. (We have sent teams to work with Next Steps in Birmingham in July 2011 and February 2012 and previously sent several teams to work with Hope Crisis Response Network following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.)
Our team may include many age groups and life-stages (16 and older). Construction skills are valuable, but definitely not a must. You'd be amazed at what you can learn to do in a day! Volunteers will help run our camp as well as work alongside tornado victims in their long term recovery efforts. We'll need help with construction, cooking, clean-up, and overall encouragement and support to the community and church in Alabama.
We still have room for others to join our team! Join us for our first team buiding meeting. For more information regarding this trip, contact Jason Urbanski via email or at 909.393.1577, ext. 212. Applications for our team will be taken through May 17.
